Volunteering

Volunteering plays an important part in the work of DGSM yourChoice and makes a valuable contribution. There are many exciting volunteering opportunities within the organisation. Click here to find out about current volunteering opportunities. With the support of our volunteers our services users are able to access different activities within the community.

Volunteers may like to befriend an individual so that they can access the activities they like doing or work with a group playing games or helping with reading and writing. Maybe you would enjoy teaching a small group to cook or play music. If you enjoy the outdoors, what about organising a group to develop an allotment? There are so many ways that you can become involved.

Volunteering opportunities include:

Driving – we are always looking for drivers to support our service users access the community
Enabling – become an enabler and change the lives of people with learning disabilities
Helping at one of our many services and projects – this could include support activities such as arts and crafts, numeracy and literacy, music, drama, evening clubs, sports, cookery and much more!
Organising and running a stall at community events
Helping at one of our many fundraising events – we run many fundraising events throughout the year including a black tie ball, quiz nights, charity golf day, Treasure Hunt, fashion show and much more!
Office administration – if you have good administration skills you could help us.
