About Us

We are a registered charity established to support people with learning disabilities and their carers through the promotion of their care, training, housing, education, employment, leisure and recreation.

The Charity works towards enabling people with learning disabilities to develop self-fulfilment and independence.  Our vision is that all people with learning disabilities will be given the same opportunities as others to live rewarding lives in the community.

We believe that all people have rights, opportunities and also responsibilities.  Our aim is to ensure that, with adequate support, people with learning disabilities can exercise their rights, use their opportunities and understand their responsibilities.

Our main objectives

  • To consult with service users and carers to determine their needs and aspirations
  • To deliver service user led services which are of high quality and cost effective
  • To encourage an inclusive environment where people with learning disabilities can develop their independence and potential
  • To attract, train and retain a high calibre group of staff and volunteers
  • To raise the profile of the Charity by developing links with community supporters, and encourage people with learning disabilities and their carers to register as members or supporters of the Charity
  • To act as a role model for others providing advice and support to carers and community groups
  • To act as a strong campaigning voice in the community on behalf of people with learning disabilities and their carers
